Located in the district by the same name, Port Dickson (PD) is a coastal town in the state of Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia. The town of Port Dickson used to produce charcoal and was therefore named Arang. During the small settlement period, it went by the name of Tanjung, which translates to the cape in English.

Port Dickson is well connected to Peninsular Malaysia by the Seremban-Post Dickson Highway (Federal Route 53). Another highway, Federal Route 5 connects it to Malacca. In 2009, the town was declared as an "Army town" because of its contributions to the Malaysian Army.

A major portion of its GDP comes from oil and gas production. Port Dickson has two refineries, one run by Shell which started its operations in 1962 while the other one is run by Petron, operating since 1963.

While Port Dickson has very few international visitors, the 18 km long beach has proven to be a well known holiday for people coming from all over the country, especially Kuala Lumpur.

That being said, Port Dickson is a fairly developed town with some really beautiful beaches.
